Downing Designs produces Reclaimed Wood Mirrors in any shape and size. We Hand-Select reclaimed Barn wood to suit your specifications. Each product is accurately templated on-site with 2-D template strips. Visualizing the mirror template on site is our assurance that the mirror is perfectly tailored to your environment.
Reclaimed Barn wood mirrors are prized for their weathered, split and cracked character, but is not suited for structural purposes. The reclaimed barn wood is cleaned, bleached, stained (if needed) and mounted to a plywood backing to ensure its rugged long-term stability. We rout the front edge to recess the mirror beautifully. It is a perfectly imperfect process, but the result is a stunning rustic wood mirror. From a stylistic perspective, these mirrors find themselves equally at home in Modern, Contemporary and traditional homes.
Final installation is completed by using interlocking heavy-duty mirror hangers.
