Sometimes we encounter very unexpected results when cutting glass with our waterjet. We were cutting a white glass slab that was 1.2″ thick x 120″ long. We had to remove 3/16″ from one edge. We never expected the slice to retain its integrity for the entire length of the cut…but it did. The photo is of the final sliver of white glass…120″ x 3/16″ x 1.2″….and it is placed upon our forklift fork in the middle. For a material that is supposed to be fragile and inflexible…we were amazed.
This strength is what allows our glass countertops to be cantilevered a lot more than any stone product would allow … without external supports.
White glass countertops allow you to create kitchens and baths thaty are beautiful and durable. They are not easily chipped, are stain-proof, and can be cleaned of water stains with vinegar. Aside from stainless steel, we do not know of many surfaces that are this durable against heat, stains and chipping.
