Here are a few Tips for Cleaning your Custom Glass Countertops.
Custom Glass Countertop Cleaning Tips
Glass counters are becoming increasingly popular in home design. They are attractive and stunning, especially when they are created from custom artwork by Downing Designs.
When cleaning glass, you want to use a soft cloth in order to avoid scratching the surface. For regular cleaning, you can use a multi-purpose or glass commercial cleaning product. You can also use a sponge to avoid scratching, just make sure it’s soft.
Never use paper towels, even to dry the glass. Paper towels will leave lint and streaks. Microfiber cloth will be much friendlier for your glass.
If you are looking for a more natural cleaning solution, try vinegar mixed with distilled water. Always use distilled water for cleaning glass, to avoid streaking. Vinegar also is a streak free cleaning solution, and an inexpensive alternative.
For stains and spills, soap water and a soft cloth will do the trick! No need to rush since spills on glass won’t stain, because glass is a non-porous medium.
To keep your glass countertops shiny and new, we recommend Windex…its glass after all.
Cleaning Textured Glass
Some countertops that we create at Downing Designs feature textured glass. If you ever need to clean the underside (or textured side) of the glass, use a lint free cloth as the texture can tear paper cloths.
Make sure the cloth is a different one than the one you’ve used to clean, and is dry. This will eliminate any lingering streaks that may have occurred during the cleaning process.
Cleaning glass is simple when you use the right products and tools. Just follow these simple steps and your glass countertops from Downing Designs will maintain their beautiful and sparkling quality.
