Three cantilevered steel brackets, anchored into the bar structure below, carry the full load of the glass surface. The glass rests on the bracket faces and is bonded with ultra-clear silicone — no hardware passes through the glass at any point. This eliminates stress concentration points, aesthetic intrusion, and future maintenance issues caused by through-drilling.

The surface requires no special treatment. The top surface is smooth polished glass — cleaning is the same as any glass surface, a damp cloth or standard glass cleaner. No sealing, no waxing, no periodic treatment required. Low-iron glass is non-porous, does not stain, and does not react with alcohol, citrus, or cleaning products.

The texture was designed interactively — client and craftsman working from the bar's geometry and the room's flow to arrive at a pattern that felt native to the space. Once the bar base drawings were confirmed, multiple textural iterations were developed. The Project

This Palm Coast residence is a study in white on white — high ceilings, handleless cabinetry, polished porcelain floors, and light pouring in from every side. In a room this bright, the countertop can't be an afterthought. It has to hold its own against the walls, the floor, and the glass chandeliers overhead, and it has to do it without adding a single competing color.

White glass was the answer. The surface reads as one clean plane of light rather than the mottled pattern of stone or the flat matte of solid surface. It reflects the room back at itself and disappears into the architecture — which, in a home designed this deliberately, is exactly the point. Its reflective nature creates a space that feels about 25% larger.

The Kitchen

The primary galley runs the length of one wall — cooktop, prep zone, and a horizon-line window backsplash. Across from it, a large waterfall island anchors the space, its white glass folding down the sides and wrapping an integrated sink and prep station.

Up close, the finish is similar to a hand-rubbed Italian lacquer cabinet.

The Master Bath

The same surface carries into the master bath, where a floating vanity runs beneath a backlit mirror. Here the white glass does quiet, everyday work — it wipes clean, it never stains, and it holds the same tone as the porcelain floor and the textured wall tile, so the room reads as one continuous envelope of light rather than a collection of finishes.

The Outdoor Kitchen

Outdoors, the palette turns. Against a covered lanai, a teal Art Deco tile treatment brings color and pattern to the grill wall and bar — the one place in the project where the architecture is allowed to speak up. A crisp white glass bar top caps the tiled base, tying the outdoor space back to the white surfaces flowing through the interior.

A glass surface belongs outdoors in Florida in a way stone never quite manages. It won't etch from citrus or salt air, it rejects solar radiation rather than gathering heat the way dark granite does, and a quick rinse returns it to showroom condition — the practical answer to an oceanfront climate that's hard on everything.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is white glass better vs white quartz or marble?

White glass countertops are 100% glass and pure silica, so the color runs pure white. It's nonporous, so it never stains or etches. Since it is non-organic it is immune to UV yellowing that happens to resin-laden quartz countertops.

Outdoors, it reflects away such a high percentage of solar radiant light that it stays cool to the touch.

Our hand-polished edge reflects light in a way engineered stone can't reproduce. In an all-white room, that purity of tone is the whole reason the surface works — the same underlying physics of light traveling through and reflecting off glass that we go deep on in Depth You Can't Photograph.

Does white glass show fingerprints or water spots?

Far less than people expect. The surface is nonporous and glass-smooth, so nothing soaks in — marks sit on top and wipe away with a cloth. There's no sealing, no special cleaner, and no maintenance schedule. Un-fussy is the new luxury.

Can glass countertops be used outdoors in Florida?

Yes — it is in my opinion the very best material for a Florida outdoor kitchen. Glass doesn't etch from citrus, salt air, or sunscreen, it doesn't absorb heat the way dark stone does, and it rinses clean. The Palm Coast outdoor bar top has held its finish in full oceanfront exposure. It has a Mohs hardness of 7 — harder than granite.

Are the countertops seamless?

No. The slabs limit seamless spans to 120″ or less, but the glass is fabricated so seams don't interrupt the eye.
